Madison girls press pass White City, 64-35

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Madison used a fast start to run away from White City in a 64-35 rout on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs led 14-2 after the first quarter and 30-7 at halftime, forcing White City to play faster by implementing a full-court press.

“We came out and played excellent defense,” Madison coach Glen Stout said.

Madison also outscored White City in the final two quarters.

The Lady Bulldogs received balanced scoring, as three players finished in double figures.

Shelby Buster led the way with 20, while Chelcie Schankie had 15 and Tera Titus added 14.

“We passed the ball as well as we have all year,” Stout said. “No one was stingy, and a lot of the time we made one extra pass for the open shot. I’m very happy with the way we played.”

Madison will face Lebo on Tuesday.

“They beat us by 20, then we beat them by 20 (this season),” Stout said. “I have a feeling it will be a closer game this time.”
