The Emporia Literacy Program will conduct the fourth annual “Scrabble Scramble” beginning at 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Flinthills Mall. The purpose of the non-competitive event is to increase awareness about the Emporia Literacy Program and to raise money to support the program.
People with all levels of wordsmithing abilities are invited to play in the Scrabble Scramble. No experience is required. The event is designed to be fun for all participants and a variety of prizes will be awarded. Food and drinks will also be provided.

The entry fee is $5 per game on the day of the event, or $10 in advance for all three games. To register in advance, participants can pick up a form at the Emporia Public Library in public information area near the elevator, at the Emporia Recreation Center, the Information Booth in the Memorial Union at Emporia State University or at the Adult Education Center at 620 Constitution St. Registration forms can also be printed out at emporia.edu/biosci/literacy.
