Emporia State forward Ida Edwards was named MIAA player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Edwards averaged 18 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in ESU’s two victories last week against Northwest Missouri State and Fort Hays State.
The 6-foot forward scored a career-high 23 points against NWMSU on Wednesday, going 10-for-12 from the floor. She added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes against FHSU.
Edwards joins Michelle Stueve (twice), Cassondra Boston, and Allie Renberg as Lady Hornets who have won MIAA player of the week awards this season. It is believed to be the first time in MIAA history that a school has had four different players pick up the honor during one season.
