The Beta Sigma Phi annual Benefit Heart Dance will be from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Emporia Country Club. It is held each year to raise money for cardiac equipment at Newman Regional Health, said Sara Schwerdtfeger of Beta Sigma Phi. Over the years, the dance has raised more than $155,000 for Emporia hospitals. In 2006, the Beta Sigma Phi fund paid for part of the cost of expansion of the cardiac rehab unit at Newman.
This year’s theme is “Playing With the Queen of Hearts.” Dan & Jane McCoy will provide music. Dress is semi-formal.
The dance is open to all who buy tickets. Tickets are $15 a person and are available from any Beta Sigma Phi member or by calling 343-9638.
