Honeycutt meets provisional qualifiying mark in triple jump

The Emporia State indoor track and field teams added one more provisional qualifier on the last day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitiational in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.
Josh Honeycutt provisionally qualified for Nationals in the triple jump, finishing sixth with a mark of 47 feet, 1.5 inches.
Craig Saalfeld had the best showing of the day, taking fourth in the high jump (6 feet, 8.25 inches).
Jaclyn Sill added a sixth-place performance in the 600-yard run (1:26.09), while Kenton Lonberger competed in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter run.
Lonberger finished fifth in the consolation finals of the 200 (22.25 seconds) and seventh in the consolation finals of the 60 (7.01 seconds).
“The Sevigne Invitational was a great meet for some of our future leaders of ESU track and field to experience,” ESU coach Dave Harris said. “ ... I believe this is invaluable for the future.”
In Friday’s action at both the Pitt State Invitational and Frank Sevigne Invitational, ESU had three championships and three provisional qualifiers.
The track teams will be back in action this weekend at the Mule Relays in Warrensburg, Mo.
