Former ESU soccer coach named assistant at OU

Former Emporia State soccer coach Kara Lowery has been hired as an assistant on the Oklahoma Sooners’ coaching staff.
Lowery was named MIAA Coach of the Year in 2004 after leading the Hornets to their first winning season ever. ESU finished 10-8-2 that season, ranking as high as fifth in the NSCAA/adidas Central Region rankings.
Lowery was an assistant at the University of Kansas for the last three seasons. She is a native of Ponca City, Okla., and graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1997.
