Card shower

The family requests a card shower for Bertha Bond, who will celebrate her 92nd birthday on Wednesday. Cards may be sent to the Jones Health Center, Room 38A, 2300 Industrial Road, Emporia, KS 66801.

Ribbon cutting

The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau will be host for a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emporia Fitness, 2812 W. 12th Ave., after which light snacks will be served. Emporia Fitness is owned by Greg Bachman.
