ESU Women Overcome Slow Start, Stay Perfect in MIAA

Kirksville, Mo. — It was exactly a month ago on Monday that the Lady Hornets had suffered their only loss of the season at Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Monday night at Truman it looked as if the 29th day of the month might be a curse for the Lady Hornets.

A month ago the Lady Hornets sort of just watched a 19-point lead slip away. On Monday, they decided they wouldn’t let it happen again, and the Lady Hornets rallied from an early 10-point deficit to win 83-72.

“I thought we really had some players that acted like they weren’t going to let us lose,” coach Brandon Schneider said. “Unfortunately at Kingsville, we didn’t see that out of anybody. But tonight, especially in the second half, we saw some people step up.”
