MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Twin Cities rockers Quietdrive will head overseas to play for U.S. troops in the Mideast.
The five-member band leaves was leaving Saturday to perform at embassies in Jordan and Egypt. On New Year's Eve, Quietdrive will play a show at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey for U.S. troops stationed there.
Other stops are planned in Greece, the United Kingdom and Japan before the group heads to Iraq where they'll play 12 shows in February.
Quietdrive frontman Kevin Truckenmiller calls it an honor to be "rocking with our fellow Americans in the armed forces."
Quietdrive's debut disc, "When All That's Left Is You," was released by Epic Records in 2006. In October, the group's second album, "Deliverance," was released on the indie label The Militia Group.
