The library will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Hartford water rates
An increase in water rates from the city of Emporia may cause a corresponding increase in water rates for consumers in Hartford.
The Hartford city council will discuss the situation, and possibly consider a city ordinance on rates, when the council meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the city office building.
Bruce Boettcher of BG Consultants will talk about progress on the water improvement project.
Among other items on the agenda are: an estimate for roof repairs at city hall, cereal-malt beverage license for Kimberly S. York to operate T-K’s Bar & Grill at 220 Commercial St., and announcement of winners of the Christmas Lights contest held Saturday and sponsored by the city and the Hartford High School Booster Club. The city will give awards to the top three winners within the city limits; the booster club give a prize to the winner in the county within 10 miles of Hartford.
