Washburn graduates
Students from this area who graduated in the fall of 2008 from Washburn University and participated in Friday’s fall commencement exercises were: Kody Johnson, bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and criminal justice, graduated cum laude, criminal justice; and Bradley Steen, bachelor’s degree in political science, both of Burlington; Casey Horton of Council Grove, bachelor’s degree in business adminstration, graduated summa cum laude, School of Business scholar; Shannon Beaty of New Strawn, bachelor’s degree in corrections and criminal justice.
To study abroad
Kansas State University students from this area who earned scholarships to study abroad in the spring 2009 semester are: Anneliese Byram of Council Grove, graduate student in interior architecture and product design, $400 Study Abroad Scholarship for Peru; Hannah Morray of Gridley, sophomore in mathematics, $200 Study Abroad Scholarship for Spain; Kelsey Sandstrom of Lyndon, sophomore in business administration, $400 Study Abroad Scholarship for Australia.
