Lady Hornets win at Central Missouri

The Emporia State women scored 50 points in the second half to pull away from Central Missouri for a 77-64 win on Saturday night.
The Lady Hornets improved to 8-1 and 3-0 in the MIAA with their first road win. They held the Jennies to 35.3 percent shooting and made 18-of-27 free throws, many coming down the stretch in a whistle-heavy game.
Cassondra Boston scored a game-high 20 points for Emporia State. Andrea Leiker scored 17 and Sophia Lenard added 15.

Emporia State leads 27-24 at half at Central Missouri. Seven Lady Hornets have scored with Andrea Leiker and Ida Edward each scoring six apiece to lead a balanced attack.
Emporia State has held the Jennies to 29.4 percent shooting and 2-for-13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Hornets have 12 turnovers, which has prevented them from pulling away.
