A month from now, when Emporia High’s swimming and diving team finally competes again, coach Bob Yevak expects the Spartans to have more endurance. For now, he’s fine with his team’s showing in the year’s second meet.
Emporia finished fifth out of eight teams at its home invite on Thursday, the last meet EHS will compete in until after winter break. Salina South easily won the event with 432 points, ahead of Olathe East’s 353 in second place.
“Hey, I’m pleased with where we’re at,” EHS coach Bob Yevak said. “The hammer falls Monday, when we really start training. We’ll be OK.”
