Friends of City Band has been organized officially to raise funds to help support the Emporia Municipal Band, according to a news release from the group, Friends of City Band.
FOCB will be hosts and guides for the band’s free Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Granada Theater. Donations will be accepted to help support next year’s summer concert series. Money raised will be placed in the band’s account within the Emporia Community Foundation.
The group has discussed securing underwriters for summer concerts and selling advertising on the weekly programs.
