A 25-point third quarter helped the Lebo boys erase a halftime deficit, and Adam Laflin had 17 points as the Wolves scored a 68-64 season-opening win over Hartford on Thursday at the Lebo round-robin tournament.
Adam Ewy, who finished with a game-high 20 points, put up 10 of them in the second quarter to help the Jaguars score 21 in the period and build a 31-27 halftime lead. Ewy was 5-for-5 at the free-throw line in the second quarter and 8-for-9 for the game.
But in the third quarter, Lebo came back strong, as Laflin and Dylan Smith each scored eight points and Calvin Perry added five. The Wolves built a 52-48 lead by the end of the third and maintained that edge in the final quarter.

Madison boys 59, White City 30
Madison’s uptempo attack was too much for White City to handle, and point guard Henry Ott led Madison with 13 points, giving the Bulldogs an easy win to start the year.
“I felt we had real balanced scoring, and... I think any five of our starters can have a decent night, but having balanced scoring really is an advantage to us,” Madison coach Alan Brown said. “Because if our opponents key on one guy, then we can have someone else step up.”
Ott hit three 3-pointers for Madison. In addition to his scoring output, Zach Nowell had nine points, Caleb Hamilton had eight, Wade Elwood seven, and Michael Luthi, Reece Childers and Garrett Damron each had six.
Turnovers helped the Bulldogs forge an early lead, and they held White City to just 11 points in the second half.
“Our theme for this year is ‘One team, one dream,’” Brown said. “And I really feel that with all of us on the same page, and helping each other out, it’s fun to coach and watch these young men play together. ... I see us doing good things up here at Madison. I’m real pleased with the team concept that we have here.”
Madison takes on Lebo tonight as the Lebo round-robin continues. The boys game is scheduled to begin at about 8:30 p.m.
