Judge’s reception
A public reception in honor of Judge John Conklin is planned from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, in the Chase County Courthouse.
Conklin is retiring effective that day, after serving 12 years as magistrate judge for the Fifth Judicial District, which includes Chase and Lyon counties. Conklin and his wife, Eloise, plan to remain in Chase County after his retirement, according to information from the Fifth Judicial District.
Financial course offered
Financial Peace University classes will be offered at the Matfield Green Community Church, beginning at 6 p.m. Dec. 14.
