People who will need food supplies for Christmas dinners will have one more day to add their names to the list at the Salvation Army.
“We’re going to do another late-day sign-up for last-minute people who just weren’t thinking about it yet, and that’s going to be (Thursday),” said Salvation Army Capt. Hope Burris.
People may go to the citadel at Fourth Avenue and Constitution Street to register.
Burris said that the organization continues to need turkeys, sacks of potatoes and other meats and foods for the distributions, scheduled for Dec. 17 and 18.
Names of needy children, and their Christmas wish lists, continue to be available from Christmas trees set up at Walmart.
“The trees are full,” she said. “We need people to take angels and buy gifts for the children.”
Unwrapped or wrapped packages for the children whose names are on the tree may be turned in at the Walmart customer service booth or to the Salvation Army, Fourth Avenue and Constitution Street.
