The Natasha’s auction that was to have taken place at the courthouse this morning was canceled.
According to Larry Putnam, of Patton & Putnam, P.A., the sheriff’s sale was canceled because of a notice of a federal tax lien filed by the IRS on Nov. 25 in the amount of $37,780.17.
Putnam, who is representing ESB Financial, a Natasha’s mortgage-holder, said that ESB Financial asked that the sale be canceled, and that ESB Financial will join the IRS as a party to foreclose their tax lien.
The federal lien represents a little over 10 percent of the other claims against the property.
Putnam said last week that Lyon County is owed $22,000 in real estate taxes on the property. ESB Financial holds mortgages for $119,000 and $110,000, not including interest. The Small Business Administration holds a mortgage worth about $87,000, Putnam said.
That puts the full price tag to clear the debt at $338,000.
After the IRS lien is settled, the property will again go on the auction block.
