Emporia’s Christmas Parade is set for Dec. 2, the organizing committee announced Wednesday.
This is the 31st annual parade, which traditionally is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. In case of bad weather, the parade will be rescheduled for Dec. 4.
The theme of the parade is “Angels at Work,” chosen as a way to “help recognize all the businesses and individuals who have gone that extra mile to help lead the way for a better, stronger Emporia,” according to the news release from the Christmas Parade Committee.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 714 Commercial St. with the Christmas tree dedication and lighting ceremony. The parade will follow at 7 p.m. heading north up Commercial Street from Fourth Avenue to 12th Avenue.
Parade entry information and forms are available online at www.emporiakschamber.org.
