Kansas Highway Patrol troopers, Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies and Emporia police responded to a one-vehicle accident Saturday night at the intersection of Burlingame Road and Kansas Highway 99 north of Emporia.
According to a KHP report, Carlos L. Amaya, 20, of Los Angeles, Calif., lost control of the 1996 Honda Accord he was driving. The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled several times.
Amaya was taken to Newman Regional Health, where he was treated and released. He was not wearing a safety restraint.
