“THE TOURNAMENT was a great success,”
“The friendliness and helpfulness of everyone in Emporia was great.”
“What a wonderful golf course,” and “The tournament was the best!”
These were comments that were heard all three days of the Kansas Women’s Golf Association Senior/Super Senior Amateur Championship in early June.
The Emporia Women’s Golf Association hosted 113 women from around the state for a two-day championship at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. Eighty women were in the age-50-and-over flight and 33 lwomen were in the age-70-and-over flight. We had wonderful support from businesses, individuals and the city course management — Rich Jaggard and Rodney Williams and their staff — and individuals who donated time to work as greeters, scorers and spotters.
The Emporia Gazette and KVOE provided information to the public about the tournament and standings of participants. The friendliness of everyone made for a positive atmosphere and enjoyable time.
The planning committee for this tournament would like to express our appreciation to our donors, advertisers, promoters, volunteers and Emporia. Together we have made the women golfers of Kansas aware of Emporia and our wonderful golf course.
