Friday Thoughts is a light-hearted commentary.
I never thought watching the Olympics on TV could be dangerous to one’s health. But that might be the case at the Walker household.
The girls have been consumed with the gymnastics competition. At every commercial break, they are attempting flips, hand springs and other dangerous gymnastics maneuvers around the house.
Even our son, who is only 22 months old, has decided to get in on the action. At night he scales the walls of his crib and flips to freedom. However, from the sound of the thud he makes on his landings, I don’t think he has much natural ability.
If the gymnastics aren’t over soon, I’m afraid we are going to be spending some time at the emergency room.

It never fails, does it? But don't forget that there's a former Gazette employee that now runs a gymnastics studio. Do you think David would give you a discount for bringing all three kids?

I totally understand this... we have tried tumbling, setting the dining room chairs up to hurdle AND as a volleyball net with a nerf ball. I am, however, VERY glad that my children are enjoying watching the olympics and getting excited for the US competitors.
There is ONE thing I have found VERY disappointing about the US competitors, and even my 6 yr. old noticed it, MOST of the US competitors DO NOT cover their heart and sing the national anthem when they are standing there proudly representing the US.
