Emporia chapter of AAUW has established a scholarship that will enhance the educational opportunities for women pursuing their career goals at Flint Hills Technical College.
Four $1,000 scholarships will be available for the 2008-09 academic year for women enrolling for the first time in the fall or spring semester as a full-time post-secondary student. Preference will be given to non-traditional students who meet minimum GPA requirements.
American Association of University Women advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Since its founding in 1881, members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day – educational, social, economic, and political.
“Including this scholarship with our other scholarship opportunities is very exciting. We are very appreciative of the Emporia AAUW chapter and all of our other scholarship sponsors who are dedicated to assisting our students with their academic careers. Scholarships continue to help FHTC recruit and retain quality students,” said Jodi Heermann, executive director of advancement.
