The Emporia Energy U-18 girls softball team finished 1-3 this weekend at the Amateur Softball Association National Tournament in Overland Park, ending its season with a 23-15 record.
The Energy lost its first pool-play game on Thursday to Chicago’s Rowdy Katz by a score of 9-1, then defeated the Omaha Lightning 9-3 that evening. Amy McAfee got the win for the Energy, and Taylor Rains struck out eight in four innings of relief. Losses to East Peoria, 7-4, and to the Missouri Revolution, 5-3, closed out the Energy’s tournament action.
Brittney Dymnioski was the Energy’s offensive leader during the tournament, going 6-13 with two walks.
