All-terrain vehicles took their toll on humans this weekend, when three people reportedly were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries received in ATV accidents.
On Friday, about 5:23 p.m., an ATV accident was reported in the 1800 block of North Highway 99. An unidentified man reportedly was driving an ATV on a gravel driveway at fast speed when he inadvertently shifted down two gears.
He was thrown from the ATV, which rolled over him at least once, according to the log at the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department.
He was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment. Authorities have not released his name.
On Sunday, two people were injured in an ATV accident at Woodland Park. Details on that accident were not yet available this morning.
