Summer Food Program
The Emporia schools have completed the Summer Food Program. No meals will be served at the schools until classes resume on Aug. 11.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: beef tips on rice, spinach salad, wheat roll, apricots.
Tuesday: Swiss steak, scalloped potatoes, summer vegetables, wheat roll, fruit cocktail.
Wednesday: chicken Alfredo, lasagna roll-up, country blend vegetables, bread sticks, apple-cranberry crisp.
Thursday: chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, pineapple and mango.
Friday: pulled pork, bun, macaroni salad, broccoli salad,fruited yogurt.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: meatloaf, parslied potatoes, green bean casserole, bread, peaches.
Tuesday: chicken-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, wheat roll, under the sea salad.
Wednesday: tater tot casserole, coleslaw, biscuits, easy fruit dessert.
Thursday: pork roast, baked dweet potato, peas hot rolls, fruited puddling.
Friday: hamburger on a bun, lettuce leaf, pickles, tomato, french fries, baked beans, sherbet.
