Watercolorist to teach workshop in Council Grove

The Community Arts Council of Council Grove will host an artist’s workshop taught by Kansas artist Mike Fallier.
The workshop will be held Aug. 22 and 23 at the Rendezvous, 623 E. Main St. Beginning and intermediate artists will learn the basics for manipulating watercolor washes and techniques to develop a finished painting. This workshop is one of several planned by the Community Arts Council.
Mike Fallier lives in Wichita and is the son of James R. Fallier, a nationally recognized artist who has been a huge influence on his son’s career. As a watercolorist, Mike Fallier’s style evolved and developed. His subjects include landscapes, wildlife, Native American and southwest scenes. He is also known for his abilities as a billboard painter and muralist. Examples of his murals are present in Council Grove.
