Hartley art on exhibit
A mixed-media exhibit of clay and painting will be on display until Aug. 8 at the Emporia Arts Council.
The art is the work of former Emporian Dale Hartley, now of Saffordville.
Hartley was guest of honor at an artist reception last month at the arts council, 618 Mechanic St.
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 7, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Card shower
A card shower is requested for former Council Grove resident LeRoy Edmunds, who will be 87 on Aug. 6. He is now living with his daughter in Paola. Cards may be sent to him at 32387 Plum Creek Road, Paola, KS 66071.
