Emporia State guard DeAndre Townsend finished with three points, three assists and a steal in 17 minutes of action at the Collegiate Basketball Invitational All-Star Game on Saturday in Wadsworth, Ohio. His team, the West squad, lost 107-85.
Townsend was one of 20 players chosen to play in the All-Star Game, which featured the best players in the nation from Division II, Division III and NAIA. The contest was televised on ESPNU.
In his four combined CBI games, Townsend averaged 8.3 points, 9 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Pittsburg State’s Cory Abercrombie — the only other player from the MIAA — took West Most Valuable Player honors after scoring 15 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
