Northern Heights senior Jacquelyne Leffler made history Friday night at the St. Marys track and field invitational, cracking the top three in Kansas high school history in the discus competition.
One week after she threw a personal-best 152 feet, 3 inches at the Kansas Relays — a throw that put her at No. 10 on the all-time list in Kansas history — Leffler uncorked a best throw of 162-4 on Friday, a mark that puts her at No. 3 in Kansas history.
Leffler now ranks behind only Manhattan’s Pinkie Suggs (164-9, 1982) and Kapaun Mt. Carmel’s Kelly Abernathy (165-2, 1985) on the all-time list.

Jackie is such a sweet kid. She talks to all her teammates and is an all around good kid. I wish her the best. My only question, and this is mostly to the Emporia Gazette...was she the only athlete competing this weekend at the St. Marys' track meet? I'd like to see the rest of the results from area track teams...haven't really seen much except EHS and Olpe track meet results.
Again, congrats Jackie!
