Tuesday
• Emporia High School’s junior varsity and varsity softball teams take on Hayden High School beginning at 4 p.m. at Whittier Park.
Wednesday
• Lyon County commissioners will meet for a study session at 8 a.m. in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse.
• The Emporia City Commission will hold its biweekly work session at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the city conference room at the Civic Auditorium.
• The Tweaksters, a performance-art duo described as “the Blue Man Group without the paint,” will perform at Albert Taylor Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for youth, and can be purchased at the Emporia Arts Council, 618 Mechanic, or at the Sweet Granada, 805 Commercial Street.
• Take Back the Night, an evening for raising awareness about domestic and sexual violence, begins at 7 p.m. at Union Square, 1200 Commercial Street, on the Emporia State University campus. Pam Kvas and Betty Senn will serve as keynote speakers.
Thursday
• Lyon County commissioners will meet for an action session at 8 a.m. in the Lyon County commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse.
• The Americus Save the Pool Committee will have a Dine and Dash spaghetti supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Annex, 557 Broadway in Americus. Call 443-5227 or 794-6738 for more information and tickets.
• The third annual Spring Forward Lawson T. Dody Memorial Event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the HPER building on the campus of Emporia State University.
• The Neosho Basin Headwaters WRAPS meeting will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the USDA Service Center Conference Room, 3020 W. 18th Ave.
• A health forum focusing on health reform in the legislature will be at 6:30 p.m. in the jury assembly room in the Lyon County Courthouse.
• Carlos Alazraqui and Cedric Yarbrough, two stars of the Comedy Central series “Reno 911!”, will perform at Albert Taylor Hall at 8 p.m. in a free performance sponsored by Emporia State University’s Union Activities Council.
• The Emporia High School girls swim team hosts a home invitational at 4 p.m.
Friday
• Emporia High School’s junior varsity and varsity softball teams play Junction City High School beginning at 4 p.m. at Whittier Park.
• The Taste, an evening food- and drink-tasting event, begins at 6 p.m. at White Auditorium. The event will feature wine, beer and samples from local restaurants. The Tallgrass Big Band will perform.
Saturday
• Emporia Unified School District 253 hosts Eggs & Issues at 8 a.m. at the Mary Herbert Learning Center. Donuts and coffee will be served at 8, with the forum beginning at 8:30.
• The Mall Magic Arts & Crafts show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Flinthills Mall.
Sunday
• The sixth annual Glass Blown Open disc golf tournament will be held at Jones Park beginning at 9 a.m. Tournament registration ends Friday evening. For information, call 786-5314.
• The first annual Bike Show and Recognition Rally begins with registration at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Eighth and Constitution Streets. Registration is free; donations are welcome. Information: 757-1664.
• The Mall Magic Arts & Crafts show continues at the Flinthills Mall from noon to 5 p.m.
• The Emporia Super Custom Car Show begins at 11 a.m. at the HPER Building at Emporia State University.
