The third annual John Blaufuss Memorial Run/Walk raised about $10,000 for Emporia State University scholarships, the university announced in a news release Saturday after the run.
The top three men and women in the 5K race were awarded medals. John Mead won for the men with a time of 20 minutes, 7 seconds. Wade Schmidt took second and David Zlab finished third. Among the women, Maureen Smith won with a time of 22:16, followed by Makaila McClelland and Kelly Boehm.
The proceeds will benefit ESU’s general scholarship fund.
