Emporia Schools

These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:

Breakfast

Monday: cereal and muffin or PopTarts.

Tuesday:sausage and cheese biscuit or cereal and graham cookies.

Wednesday: pizza or cereal and graham cookies.

Thursday: drizzled scone or cereal and graham cookies.

Friday: in-service, no school.

Lunch

Monday: cheeseburger on a bun, fries, baby carrots and dip, mandarin oranges.

Tuesday: pizza, tossed salad, strawberry-banana cup, special dirt cake.

Wednesday: turkey fritter, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner roll, corn, peach half.

Thursday: crispitos, nacho chips, cheese sauce, tossed salad, applesauce.

Friday: in-service, no school.

Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.

Friendship Meals

Emporia

Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.

Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

These meals will be served next week.

Monday: spaghetti with meat sauce, Italian vegetables, Texas toast, gelatin with applesauce.

Tuesday: chicken casserole, lettuce salad, spinach, wheat bread, fruit cocktail.

Wednesday: oven-fried chicken leg, Kansas corn, Key largo vegetables, wheat roll, cherry fluff.

Thursday: fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, bread, plums.

Friday: pulled pork on a bun, baked potato, broccoli, scalloped apples.

North Lyon County

Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.

Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

These meals will be served next week.

Monday: smothered steak, oven-browned potatoes, corn, bread, tropical fruit.

Tuesday: chef salad, crackers, cantaloupe, cookie.

Wednesday: turkey slice, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread dressing, California-blend vegetables, wheat roll, frozen fruit salad.

Thursday: ham loaf, au gratin potatoes, peas and pearl onions, wheat bread, pears.

Friday:oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, Harvard beets, wheat bread, fluffy fruit salad.
