The office at the Lee Beran Recreation Center, 313 W. Fourth Ave., was set to close today at 4 p.m. for scheduled renovations, the Emporia Recreation Commission announced Thursday. The center will continue to serve the public and hold all scheduled programs. The office will be relocated during construction.
Mitchell-Markowitz Construction will begin the renovation project Monday, which includes work on the main office, storage area, locker rooms and the installation of new flooring. The locker room renovation work will begin on June 9 and will take approximately four weeks, during which time the locker rooms will be shut down.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed the third week of July.
