The Emporia High golf team placed third out of 10 teams at Wednesday’s Washburn Rural Invitational at the Shawnee Country Club.
The Spartans’ team score of 320 was seven shots behind first-place Hayden and second-place Shawnee Mission East, which both shot 313s.
EHS was led by Fletcher Harder, who took third with a 76. His score put him in a tie for the best round of the day with Manhattan’s Clarke Fry and Washburn Rural’s Troy Seigel.
Bren Fisher added a 79 for EHS, while Matt McAnarney (82) and Eric Reimer (83) rounded out the team score.
Spencer Anderson (86) also competed for the Spartans.
EHS will travel to the Topeka West Invitational on Monday.
