The public will have an opportunity to learn about health reform in Kansas at a public forum on April 24.
The forum will be in the jury assembly room on the second floor of the Lyon County Courthouse. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. on April 24. Sen. Jim Barnett will attend. Other representatives have been invited as well, said Lougene Marsh, executive director of the Flint Hills Community Health Center.
Marsh said the forums are being held across the state.
“They’ve been very informative about a variety of health reform issues,” Marsh said.
Marsh said the forums are designed to give the public a look at health reform in the legislative session. The public will be allowed to ask questions.
“This will be an opportunity for the legislators to hear from constituents,” Marsh said.
The second portion of the evening will focus on influenza and pandemic preparedness. A representative of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment will be on hand to discuss the issues and address questions.
