The first-ever Duck Soup Softball Tournament and Home Run Derby will take place on Saturday, April 26, at the South Avenue Softball Fields in Emporia.
The tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the Dom and Kilee Debita family. Dom’s mother, Cyndy, needs a liver transplant, and funds received with help the family with travel and medical expenses.
Cost for the tournament is $120 per co-ed team, and there is a three-game guarantee. In the “Duck Soup” format, each inning will have its own quirk, such as batters hitting with the opposite hand or running the bases in reverse order.
For the home run derby, cost is $10 per person, with participants needing to provide their own pitcher.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available at the site for lunch.
