Today
The Emporia Chess Society meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Granada Coffee Company and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Pyramid Pizza. All ages and skill levels are welcome, including children. There is no charge.
Emporia Masonic Lodge 12 meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 424 Merchant St.
Tuesday
The Flint Hills Regional Quilt Guild meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month at the Presbyterian West Campus, 1702 W. 15th Ave. Members will make plans for the Guild “Shop Hop” to Severy on Thursday. Toni Steer will present the program.
P.E.O. Chapter HY meets at 9:30 a.m. with Barbara Hunter. Kayla Oney will present the program, “Emporia Main Street.”
The Rotary Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.
Single Adult Fellowship group meets at 6 p.m. every Tuesday during April at Casa Ramos, 201 Commercial St. Information: Rufus Hobbs, 392-5780.
The Kiwanis Club meets at 6:15 p.m. in the Commander’s Room at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave.

The Sunrise Rotary Club meets at 7 a.m. at the Regency Gardens, 3021 W. Highway 50.
The Emporia Regional Quilters Guild meets at 6:30 p.m. at the new Lyon County extension office. Visitors are welcome.
The International Association of Administrative Professionals meet at 6:30 p.m. at Newman Regional Health for dinner, with presentations at 7 p.m. Nadine Yust, 341-9979.
Lyon County Chapter 36 Disabled American Veterans meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Army Reserve Center, 1412 E. Sixth Ave. The Auxiliary meets at 7:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at the same location at 7:30 p.m.

The Flint Hills Optimist Club meets at noon at the ESU Memorial Union.
The Hi-Noon Kiwanis Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.
The Sertoma Club meets at noon at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave. Warren Brown will present the program.
The Flints Hills Genealogical Society meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Emporia Public Library meeting room, 110 E. Sixth Ave. Information: 342-9552.

The Emporia Airport Action Group meets at approximately 9:30 a.m. every Saturday in the main terminal at the Emporia Municipal Airport for “hangar talk,” coffee and doughnuts. “You are free to move about” the airport. Information: 342-3598.
