The Emporia High track and field team came away with five events titles Friday at the Topeka High Relays.

The five victories helped EHS finish eighth out of 13 teams on the girls side, while the EHS boys came in fourth out of 14 teams.

On the girls side, seniors Michaela Reynolds and Samantha Kraft turned in event-winning performances, as Reynolds won the 3,200-meter run while Kraft took the title in the pole vault.

Reynolds blew away the field in the 3,200, winning the event in a time of 11 minutes, 12.54 seconds, with the next fastest finisher, Blue Valley North’s Ellie Mohr, coming across the line nearly 42 seconds later (11:53.16).

As for Kraft, she won the pole vault with a clearance of 10 feet, which was 2 feet better than the runner-up.
