Emporia State University named H. Joseph Wen as the new dean of the School of Business, effective in July, Emporia State announced Thursday in a news release.
Wen will come to Emporia State from Southeast Missouri State University, where he is the current chair of the Cape Girardeau, Mo., school’s accounting and management information systems department. He’s also a professor of management information systems in Southeast Missouri State’s College of Business. Wen has 20 years of experience teaching at colleges in Missouri, Illinois and New Jersey.
“I feel very excited about this opportunity,” Wen said in the release. “When I was on campus interviewing for the position, I was impressed with Emporia State’s emphasis on quality and its student-centered atmosphere.”
Wen will replace Robert Hite, who will return to teaching after retiring as dean of the business school. Hite will be a professor of marketing research beginning next fall.
