Chase County
The Chase County Leader News reported that the CROP walk is Sunday. Rain or shine, walkers will gather at 2 p.m. at Swope Park.
Walkers are encouraged to have someone sponsor them in the walk, which is a 6K walk to help the hungry around the world and in Chase County.
Burlington
A special tribute from the Kansas Senate honoring Burlington’s 150th anniversary was presented to the to Burlington by the Senate by Sen. Derek Schmidt, the Coffey County Republican reported.
Schmidt, a Republican from Independence, represents Burlington and southeast Coffey County.
Greenwood County
The Madison News reported the Greenwood County Commission has hired a new economic development director to replace Vickie Hornbuckle, who recently resigned.
Ashley Cooper of Eureka has been hired to fill the position.

The Coffey County Republican reported that the pictorial history books, “Images: 150 Years of History in Burlington, Kansas” have arrived.
Pre-ordered books can be picked up at the Coffey County Republican office, 324 Hudson, Burlington, Books are still available for purchase for $29.95 plus tax.
