Threat brings charges
WICHITA — A 15-year-old Haven boy accused of threatening to send “three shooters” to a homecoming dance in Wichita was charged Wednesday with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office said.
Wichita police allege the teen made the threat in an online message to a 14-year-old Wichita Heights High School girl who had recently broken off a relationship with him.
Extra security measures may be in place at the Oct. 13 homecoming dance at the high school, officials said.
“We’re going to kind of wait and see how this plays out,” said Denise Wren, Wichita’s assistant superintendent for high schools. “I’m sure they’re going to come up with a plan, but I don’t know exactly what it’s going to be.”
