ESU to announce bequest

Emporia State University will discuss its second-largest, single gift from the estate of Martha Kruse Furbur at a press conference at 10:15 a.m. Thursday in Room 319F of the William Allen White Library on campus.
The gift is earmarked for scholarships for the School of Library and Information Management. Gwen Alexander, the school’s dean, and Judith Heasley, executive director of University Advancement, will speak at the conference.
Furbur died May 9, 2006, in Orange, Calif., and graduated from ESU with a bachelor of science degree in 1938.
