Apple Festival canceled
Because of lack of apples, Hetlinger Developmental Services has canceled its annual Apple Festival, which was scheduled for Sept. 29. Hetlinger, along with several area apple growers, lost their apple crop this year after a late freeze in April.
In lieu of the festival, Hetlinger will have an alumium can recycling drive from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 29. There will be free popcorn that day and Hetlinger will pay 55 cents per pound for alumium cans.
