Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway personnel reported finding a body lying between railroad tracks shortly after midnight today.
The 18-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, apparently had fallen from approximately midway across the Prairie Street overpass, according to Lyon County Sheriff Gary Eichorn.
Eichorn said that railway personnel called the Emporia Police Department at 12;13. Police, in turn, called the sheriff's department. The west side of the bridge is within county jurisdiction.
Investigation is continuing into the case. The name of the young man will be released pending notification of next of kin.

I am sure that if the sheriffs office has anything to do with it, it will be bungled or swept under the rug.

The Gazette knows only what they are told- by official sources and others- same with KVOE- Unless there are witnesses, who really knows jump or fell? Not sure that it maybe needs to be known outside legal circles and the family anyway.
