Six Emporia High School debaters ranked near the top at debate tournaments held recently at Washburn Rural and Blue Valley Northwest high schools.
Chase Miller and Alex Bonnet placed fifth out of 80 teams in the varsity division at Washburn’s invitational debate tournament.
Erica Bennett and Kristina Mease were fourth among 42 teams in the open division at Blue Valley Northwest, and Sady Strong and Mayra Hernandez placed fourth in the junior varsity division.
