The Emporia High gymnastics team finished 15th out of 15 teams Saturday at the Shawnee Mission North Invitational, as the Lady Spartans did not field a whole team.
The lone All-Around performer for EHS that competed in all four events was Tarra Nichols, who scored a 7.85 on the vault, a 6.7 on the bars, a 6.55 on the beam and an 8.4 on the floor.
“It would of been nice to have a full team score to see how we would of placed, but it is still early in the season,” EHS coach Barbara Clark said. “We know we have to work harder and individually change up our routines.”
Emporia High will be back in action at 6 p.m. Thursday when it plays host to its home invitational. EHS will welcome Shawnee Mission North, Shawnee Mission South and Shawnee Mission West to the four-team meet.
