Angel Food orders due

Angel Food orders will be taken beginning Wednesday (Oct. 31) at the Emporia Church of the Nazarene, 2931 W. 24th Ave.; the Emporia Presbyterian Church, 802 Commercial St., and Grace United Methodist Church, 2 Neosho St.
A food box, which sells for $28 tax included, will include: 4 lbs. of chicken-leg quarters, a Banquet turkey entrée, four half-pound beef patties, 12 oz. of Philly steaks, 6.5 oz. stroganoff dinner, two lbs. fresh onions, 20 oz. of shoestring potatoes, a 7-oz. blueberry muffin mix, one dessert item and one pound each of chicken breasts, gourmet sausage, corn dogs, ground turkey, rice and California-blend vegetables.
Everyone is eligible to purchase Angel Food boxes and, with the purchase of one box, each participant is entitled to purchase any or all three bonus boxes of meat or prepared entrees for $20 each.
Bonus box contents will be: Box 1, eight 8-oz. ribeye steaks; Box 2, four 8-oz. T-bone steaks and four 8-oz. top sirloin steaks; Box 3, five individual complete meals containing one entree, two side dishes, two portions of margarine, one skim milk, one slice of bread, and one dessert. The entrees will be meatloaf, flame-broilet salisbury steak with gravy, turkey with gravy and dressing, breaded chicken patty with sweet-and-sour sauce, and barbecued pork rib patty.
Food must be picked up at the times specified by the churches. Unclaimed food will be donated to others in need.
Purchases must be paid for in advance, using cash, money orders, or food stamp cards; no personal checks are allowed.
The Nazarene church allows food-stamp orders to be placed at the church office on Mondays through Thursdays throughout the month between 9 a.m. and noon.
Orders may be placed:
• Emporia Presbyterian — Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m.; Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Nazarene — Wednesday, 2 to 7 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 2 to 6 p.m., and Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Grace — Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Distribution of boxes will be on Nov. 17. Orders placed at the Nazarene and Grace churches may be picked up at the churches; distribution for Emporia Presbyterian will be at Spic ’n’ Span Cleaners at Fourth Avenue and Merchant Street. Times will be provided when orders are placed.
