Zoo, churches offer safe and spooky Halloween

Monday, October 29, 2007

The David Traylor Zoo and many area churches plan activities for families and children on Halloween, which is on Wednesday.

Boo in the Zoo

“Boo in the Zoo” will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Halloween Day at the David Traylor Zoo in Soden’s Grove. Children in costume can trick or treat at stations throughout the zoo, where they will receive candy and prizes.

Area churches

Attendees may bring side dishes or desserts to share, along with a bag of treats for children’s “Treat Street.” Participants are welcome to dress as a favorite Bible hero or animal (no scary costumes). There will be apple bobbing, caramel apple dipping, Bingo for adults and a ”Mystery Room” for children. Adults also can make fall centerpieces.

I want to thank these churches for doing this for the community. It really makes it for a better safer time for my kids and others. If they need fundraising to keep this going, I'M IN!!!
