ESU soccer falls to S.W. Baptist

The Emporia State soccer team fell 5-0 to Southwest Baptist on Friday in Bolivar, Mo.
Baptist scored its first goal just 34 seconds in, as Krysten Bastshe made it 1-0 on a pass from Atefeh Heivary.
Dominie Emmanuel gave SBU a 2-0 halftime lead, while Bartshe added a goal in the 60th minute.
Heivary contributed two goals within 34 seconds of each other in the 66th and 67th minutes to round out the Bearcats’ scoring.
SBU (9-6-2, 8-4-1 MIAA) outshot ESU 24-2. Sarah Tetuan and Lauren Cathey had the Hornets’ shots.
ESU keeper Megan Martin added eight saves.
The Hornets (0-18, 0-13 MIAA) wrap up the season today with a match against Missouri Southern.
